Tekashi 6ix9ine has entered a plea deal with New York courts, which means his previous 47-year-minimum sentence could be reduced to under a year.
The 22-year-old rapper (born Daniel Hernandez) was facing more than four decades in prison on nine federal charges - including racketeering, conspiracy, firearms offences, and narcotics trafficking.
But the rapper could be walking free as early as January 2020, after entering a plea deal that has just been made public.

The deal requires that Hernandez co-operates with enforcement agencies, disclosing all information of his and others illegal activity to the US Attorney's Office, provide the office with any document they request and testify before the Grand Jury or at any trial.
The court document also says Hernandez needs to "bring to the Office's attention all crimes which he has committed; and that he shall commit no further crimes".
"If the defendant does this, the Office... agrees not to prosecute the defendant for the crimes set forth."
The document also states that Hernandez may be placed in witness protection at a later date, due to the nature of evidence the rapper may be providing against others.
Hernandez admitted in the court hearing that he had paid another member of the Nine Trey Bloods gang, which he was a member of, to "shoot at a rival member of Nine Trey to scare him."
"I did this to maintain or increase my own standing in Nine Trey."
He apologised for any harm his actions, including assisting to sell one kilogram of heroin, may have caused.
"I apologise to the Court, to anyone who was hurt, to my family, friends and fans for what I have done and who I have let down."
