Justin Bieber and wife Hailey reveal they were saving themselves until marriage

Justin Bieber and his new wife Hailey have revealed intimate details about their marriage in a new tell-all interview - including the reason they got hitched so quickly.

Speaking to Vogue, the newlyweds explained that they were still "learning as they go" as a married couple, having rekindled their relationship that ended in 2016.

"When I saw her last June, I just forgot how much I loved her and how much I missed her and how much of a positive impact she made on my life," Justin explained.

After less than four weeks of dating again, the pair tied to knot in a courthouse in New York - and now we know why.

Justin admitted he had once had "a legitimate problem with sex," meaning he was in the midst of a self-imposed period of celibacy when he and Hailey got back together.

"I wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul," he said.

"And I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behaviour."

'Good behaviour' extended to waiting until marriage to get back between the sheets as far as Justin was concerned, which somewhat explains why he proposed within a month.

Hailey, who attended the same famous Hillsong Church as Justin, said she took the decision to accept the 'Sorry' singer's proposal very seriously.

"I prayed to feel peace about the decision, and that's where I landed," she said.

"I love him very much. I have loved him for a long time."

The pair says they are already in marriage counselling in order to address some of the issues that saw them break up three years ago.
