Lady Gaga ends engagement to Christian Carino amid rumours of Bradley Cooper romance

Lady Gaga has officially ended her engagement to fiancé Christian Carino, according to multiple media outlets.

A representative for the 32-year-old pop star is said to have confirmed the split to E! News and People magazine.

A source close to the couple reportedly told E! the relationship "just didn't work out. Relationships sometimes end."

"It's not a long, dramatic story."

Fans first began to suspect the 'Bad Romance' singer was newly single when she appeared at the Grammy awards solo, without her engagement ring earlier this month.

The pair have been an item for nearly two years, with Gaga revealing their engagement by referring to Carino as her fiancé during an acceptance speech at Elle's 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration.

The split news comes amid rampant speculation of a growing romance between Gaga and her A Star Is Born co-star and director, Bradley Cooper.

"This is not a drill, Lady Gaga and her fiancé broke up (my condolences) but does that mean we have a real life #AStarIsBorn relationship in the near future?!," one Twitter user wrote.

"Lady Gaga broke off her engagement because she's secretly in love with Bradley Cooper... obviously," said another.

When Cooper joined Gaga onstage to perform the film's lead single 'Shallow' during her Las Vegas show earlier this year, the reported visible chemistry between the pair fuelled rumours of an affair.

"Just watched Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper performing in Las Vegas and: 1. She's off her nut and 2. She's violently in love with Bradley Cooper," one fan wrote.
