Tickets for The Wiggles NZ dates sell out in minutes, appear on Viagogo for triple the price

Kiwi parents are "devastated" by the news that tickets to many of The Wiggles New Zealand shows sold out in minutes, and are already being resold at a much higher price.

The Wiggle Fun Tour originally saw the beloved kids entertainers set to play 15 shows across the country, but they've since added extra dates to due to the high demand.

Tickets went on sale at 10.30am Thursday morning and according to a post on The Wiggles Facebook page, the two Auckland shows sold out within a "record two minutes".

Seats for performances in Hamilton, Christchurch and Napier were all snapped up not long after.

Despite the addition of extra shows in Napier and Auckland, mums and dads across the country have flooded the Aussie quartet's social media pages with angry comments, claiming they're now dealing with upset little ones.

"More Auckland shows! Or a Tauranga one please, my girls have missed out and are gonna be so disappointed," one parent wrote.

"A bigger venue would be advised, you have a lot of fans here," said another.

"So upset, how can they go so fast?" one asked. "Didn't even have a chance!"

At the time of writing, tickets for shows in Wellington and Dunedin are listed on the notorious resale website Viagogo starting at $130 - more than triple the original price.

The Switzerland-based company was summoned to the Auckland High Court last month after it was sued by the Commerce Commission last year over various complaints.

"Clearly people go on and buy a bulk amount and re sell them," one Facebook user said.

"It's so unfair and frustrating!"

Earlier this month, the Government announced plans to crack down on ticket scalping, with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern saying "consumers aren't getting a fair deal."
