The final social media post of a US rapper who's believed to have been shot dead has gone viral in the wake of his death.

Nipsey Hussle, real name Ermias Davidson Ashedom, was killed in a shooting outside his clothing store in Los Angeles, aged 33.

He was shot multiple times and transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead, law enforcement sources told the LA Times.

Fans have taken to social media in their droves to share tributes - and some have noted the irony and unsettling nature of his final tweet, which was posted just hours before his death.

It reads: "Having strong enemies is a blessing."

Many fans reacted with shock at how spot-on the timing of the tweet was, describing it as "haunting" and "unbelievably disturbing".

The eerie nature of Hussle's final post is similar to that of fellow US hip-hop star XXX Tentacion, who was shot dead just moments after speaking about what his legacy would be if he were to die that day.
