Two massively popular recent additions to America's hip-hop scene have announced arena shows in Auckland for later this year.

Singer/songwriter SZA and Atlana rapper Russ will each play one show only at Auckland's Spark arena in July, after playing Australia's Splendour In The Grass festival.

Russ was recently named on Forbes annual 30 Under 30 list, after going multi-platinum with his debut album There's Really A WOLF.

The 'Losin Control' hitmaker last played to Kiwi audiences in 2017, where he played a  two and a half hour long set for a sold out crowd.

SZA has collaborated and written for Rihanna, Maroon 5, and perhaps most famously, Kendrick Lamar on the track 'All The Stars' for the Black Panther movie.

The Grammy nominee scored the most nominations of any female artist at last year's awards.

Russ will headline Spark Arena on July 13 before heading to Splendor In The Grass across the ditch, while SZA will take the stage after the festival on July 26.

Tickets for both shows go on sale Thursday April 18.
