Thousands turn out for You Are Us/Aroha Nui Christchurch terror attack fundraising concert

Thousands have arrived at Auckland's Spark Arena for the first You Are Us/Aroha Nui concert to raise funds for the victims of the Christchurch terror attacks.

Featuring the likes of Six60, Stan Walker, Fat Freddy's Drop, Dave Dobbyn and Mike King, the event will see all proceeds from ticket sales go to the Our People, Our City fund.

Roads were closed around the arena earlier on Saturday and armed police are present, as New Zealand's threat level remains at high.

Eleven thousand people are attending the event, with many arriving on Lime scooters.

A second show will happen in Christchurch on April 17, with the addition of global superstar Lorde.
