Auckland Art Gallery celebrates one of New Zealand's most influential artists

Traditional-looking paintings on display at Auckland Art Gallery were painted by a woman anything but traditional.

Frances Hodgkins was born in the 19th century, but thought and acted like a modern-day woman. She travelled alone, loved fashion and food and moved on average six times a year.

Exhibition curator Mary Kisler spoke to Newshub Late's Wilhelmina Shrimpton.
