Rose Matafeo has made her US televison debut with a stand up appearance on late night talk show Conan.

The Kiwi comedian performed a six-minute set on the iconic show, where she wore an outfit she compared to a necktie.

"Yes I AM wearing a two-piece matching knit outfit on Conan tomorrow night, thank you for asking!" she captioned an Instagram post ahead of the performance.

Matafeo, who last year won the coveted Best Comedy Show award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, called the experience a "dream come true" on social media.

A raft of Kiwi celebrities extended their congratulations to the 27-year-old in the comments section, including her former Jono and Ben castmate Ben Boyce, fellow comedian Dai Henwood and Westside star Antonia Prebble.

"Oh! My! GOD!!!! Rose this is incredible!!!!! Congratulations! You are unstoppable, I'm so excited for you!" wrote TV personality Jaquie Brown.

Matafeo recently wrapped filming on her first feature film, Baby, Done, where she stars opposite Harry Potter actor Matthew Lewis.
