Game of Thrones coffee cup blooper digitally removed

The accidental coffee cup in the latest Game of Thrones episode has brutally been digitally removed from the show.

In S08E04, 'The Last of the Starks', what looked like a Starbucks cup was spotted by fans on a table in front of Daenerys Targaryen during a party at Winterfell.

HBO joked that "the latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea."

Now, however, the broadcaster has edited the coffee cup out of the episode out of digital copies of the episode that are being legally streamed.

"HBO confirms the cup has now been digitally edited out of existence from Westeros on its streaming services," the company told Entertainment Weekly.

"It exists now only in our memory. And in hundreds of screengrabs and memes."

Although it turns out the coffee cup wasn't from Starbucks, the company capitalised on the free publicity anyway.

"[To be honest], we're surprised she didn't order a Dragon Drink," the chain's official account tweeted.

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz also got in on the joke, suggesting he was the all-seeing three-eyed raven.
