Keanu Reeves talks unkillable, killing machine John Wick back in Chapter 3 - Parabellum

Keanu Reeves - we've seen him as Johnny Utah in Point Break, on a speeding bus in Speed and taking the red pill in The Matrix, to name but a few of his notable films.

"Oh gosh, I've been so very fortunate with all those experiences, all of those projects have changed my life, and now this project as well," he told Newshub.

The project he speaks of is John Wick.

The cult action franchise which has rebranded the 54-year-old as an action hero.

The unkillable, killing machine that is John Wick is back for Chapter 3 - Parabellum. And to save you the trouble of reaching for Google Translate, in Latin "Parabellum" means "prepare for war".

There are lots of guns and in this latest chapter, lots of stabby things - John Wick can kill a man with anything from a pencil to a book. Thrilling new fans of course means upping the action.

You wanted John Wick on a horse? Your wish is his command.

"That was one of the things Chad and I cooked up," Reeves said.

"He came up with the 'let's have ninjas with swords on motorcycles try and kill John Wick' and I came up with 'let's have John Wick ride a horse, and have a gun fight,' so that's just the way it happens."

I know as a fan, and as an audience member, what it is that I love about this character but what does Keanu love about John Wick?

"I do love John Wick. I love his heart. His will. His honour, I love his grief," he says.

"I love how he loves his wife Helen, did I mention his sense of humour and I love his agency. I love that he's capable."

Capable indeed, running at 92 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, he's more than capable of taking charge of the box office this opening weekend.
