'Rest now': Robbie Magasiva's moving tribute to brother Pua on day of funeral

Robbie Magasiva has gone public with a moving tribute to his late brother Pua on the day of the beloved actor's funeral.

Robbie, who plays Will Jackson in Wentworth, posted a photo of his brother, along with a heart-wrenching caption.

"My heart is broken," Robbie wrote.

"I miss you so much Pua we all do. Rest now. I love you Pua."

The post was uploaded Friday, the same day the former Shortland Street star was laid to rest in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family in Wellington.

The 38-year-old father and husband was found dead in the early hours of Saturday morning in Wellington. South Pacific Pictures confirmed the death to Newshub, and police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

A raft of Kiwi celebrities shared their condolences in the comments section, including comedian/filmmaker Madeline Sami, Blues player Ma'a Nonu and former Shortland Street actor Shavaughn Ruakere.

"Oh boy that is a beautiful picture," Ruakere wrote.

"Taonga for you to keep forever. Love and strength to you on this day and all days."
