Bill Cosby calls himself 'America's Dad' in bizarre Father's Day Tweet

Disgraced actor Bill Cosby has posted a bizarre Tweet, referring to himself as "America's Dad" despite the fact he is serving a prison sentence for sexual assault.

"Hey, Hey, Hey..It's America's Dad," the actor Tweeted on Sunday - which was Father's Day in America.

"I know it's late but to all of the Dads..it's an honor to be called a father, so let's make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose - strengthening our families and communities."

The Tweet was accompanied by an old video of Cosby discussing racism.

Cosby's spokesperson Andrew Wyatt told USA Today the 81-year-old requested the message be posted for Father's Day.

More than 50 women accused Cosby of sexual abuse and he is currently serving a three to 10 year sentence in a Pennsylvania prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.

Before his behavior came to light, Cosby was known for promoting family values.

He was convicted in 2018.

His post received over 5000 comments - the majority of which are not happy to see him trying to reclaim his title as "America's Dad."

"Um, the title of America's Dad goes to the 1st runner up in the event the winner is unable to fulfill his dutiesincluding, but not limited to, being imprisoned for rape," wrote one person.

"Cool Bill!" wrote another. "Pro tip: one awesome way to make our communities stronger would be to not drug and rape people in the community. The more you know!"
