BBC star Louis Theroux is set to come to New Zealand for one night only.

The filmmaker and journalist announced he'll hold his live show Louis Theroux Without Limits in Auckland in January next year.

Joined by television and radio personality Julia Zemiro, Theroux will delve into subjects from his catalogue of work, including sex trafficking, the opioid epidemic and religious extremes - all with his trademark sense of humour.

The January 10 show will mark the first NZ appearance for the two time BAFTA Award-winner.

"I'm delighted to be taking my tour to Auckland and I'm excited that I'll finally get to meet my Kiwi fans for the first time," Theroux said in a statement.

Presale tickets will go on sale Tuesday, June 18 at 9am. Public tickets will be available for purchase on Monday, June 24, at 9am.
