The wife of Duane 'Dog' Chapman has asked fans to say their prayers after his wife Beth was placed in a medically induced coma.

The couple shot to fame with their reality TV show Dog The Bounty Hunter, but 51-year-old Beth is now fighting for her life having battled cancer for years.

"We humbly ask everyone to please pray for Beth," the family said in a statement to Hawaii News Now.

They also sent their "sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers throughout Beth's battle with cancer."

Duane echoed the sentiment on Twitter, asking his 494,000 followers: "Please say your prayers for Beth right now thank you love you."

Meanwhile, Beth's daughter Bonnie updated fans in an Instagram story from the hospital in Honolulu.

"There's not much of an update I can give, I can say she's getting good care," she wrote.

"I know you guys wanted more, but y'know it's a coma, [not] much [sic] can be updated."

After Beth was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2017, the pair starred in a spinoff documenting her journey to remission called Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives.

Earlier this year, Duane spoke to InTouch Weekly about the emotional toll of finding out Beth's cancer had returned and was incurable.

"I have to keep faith, I am the leader of the family," he said.

"[Beth] thinks she is, but I am. I have to keep it where I don't have any doubts and keep everything positive. I love my honey so much, I don't know what I'm gonna do."

The couple has been together for 30 years.
