Rutger Hauer, best known for his portrayal of a replicant in classic sci-fi film Blade Runner, has died.
Hauer, 75, died at his home in the Netherlands last week after a short illness, Variety reports. His funeral was held on Wednesday.
In 1982 he found fame as three-year-old android Roy Batty, the primary antagonist of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner. He infamously improvised the doomed character's final 'tears in rain' speech.
His later career included roles in Ladyhawke, True Blood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Batman Begins and Sin City.
Outside of film and TV, he was an environmentalist and AIDS activist.
