Gossip Girl reboot coming to new streaming service HBO Max - reports

This just in, Upper East Siders. Spotted at the new streaming service HBO Max: A reboot of beloved teen series Gossip Girl, according to reports.

According to Deadline, the show that kick-started the careers of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley is set to return to the silver screen.

The original series followed the scandalous lives of a group of teenagers attending an elite private school in New York City. Whether or not Serena van der Woodsen (Lively), Blair Waldorf (Meester) and the rest of the gang will feature remains TBC.

Eight years on from the end of the Gossip Girl website that the show centered on, "a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl," reports Deadline.

"The prestige series will address just how much social media - and the landscape of New York itself - has changed in the intervening years."

The hit show ran for six seasons from 2007-2012, sky-rocketing to success and inspiring clothing and makeup lines with its focus on fashion.

Xoxo, Gossip Girl. (But really, Newshub.)
