Lil Wayne has told a crowd he's probably pulling out of a major North American tour with pop band Blink 182 before reportedly cutting his performance early.

He said the event was not "his swag", while Twitter users claim he told the crowd they weren't "his people" before leaving.

Video from the Thursday night concert in Bristow, Virginia (local time) posted by Twitter user @worldofjeremiah shows the 'A Milli' hit-maker telling the audience he's not used to playing to smaller crowds that are still forming.

"Hold up... I just want the people to know, if you were wondering, please forgive me, but I am so not used to performing to a crowd [where] there's not too many [people, as it's] still forming. That's not my swag," says Lil Wayne in the video.

"I'm not sure how long I'm going to be able to do this tour. But make some noise for Blink 182 for including me anyway! This might be my last night though."

Although he continues performing at the end of the video, social media comments from people reportedly at the concert claim Lil Wayne left the stage shortly thereafter.

"Lil Wayne said 'Ain’t enough of y'all *** here, I'm out', and straight up left the set after four songs," tweeted @k_kishh, with a video from the gig.

"Thanks for playing for 20 minutes tonight, Lil Douche," added @JWPascale.

Lil Wayne is scheduled to play support for Blink 182 at dozens more shows in North America, finishing with a concert in Sacramento on October 13.

There's been no official confirmation of the rapper quitting the tour yet.
