The Son of a Gunn Show host attended the South Island premiere of the new film about the rugby player's remarkable career, Dan Carter: A Perfect 10, in Christchurch on Tuesday.
While the Kiwi broadcaster's son Louis had grown-up a little since the original snap was taken, the trio all sported the same grin they had been wearing some 10 years earlier.
"10 years ago I took my son Louis to meet his favourite AB @dancarter," Gunn captioned the side-by-side comparison.
"Tonight we were honoured to meet the man again at the screening of his movie Dan Carter: A Perfect 10.
"What a man. What a movie. It's got Fathers Day written all over it! Get there!"
In the comments section, the More FM host described Carter as a "very humble fella who tells an extraordinary story", mentioning the sportsman's own father as a highlight in the film.
Dan Carter: A Perfect 10 opens in New Zealand cinemas on Thursday.
