Google launches hilarious interactive feature to celebrate Friends 25th anniversary

Google has launched an adorable new feature to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved sitcom Friends

The search engine has incorporated interactive elements into the results for each of the show's main characters.

Fans can search the first name of their favourite character followed by 'Friends' to see for themselves - and that's exactly what they've been doing. Monica, Chandler, Joey, Ross, Pheobe and Rachel's names are all currently trending on Google NZ.

For example, searching 'Joey Friends,' clicking on the resulting pizza will treat the user to one of his classic catchphrases - no, not the one you're thinking of - alongside a fun animation.

Some of the other features reference Ross' iconic couch-moving technique, Rachel's influence as a trend-setter and Pheobe's seminal song 'Smelly Cat'.

Friends remains in syndication on TV channels around the globe after a wildly popular 10 season-run ending in 2004.

As part of the 25-year celebration of the series, creators Kevin Bright, David Crane and Marta Kauffman relived the highs and lows of making the show at a special screening in New York.

Kauffman admitted there were at least two storylines she regretted, while the producers all agreed Ross and Rachel would still be together after their dramatic reunion on the series finale.
