A new poll has found the older you are, the more you're annoyed by having to sit through movie trailers before seeing the one you paid for.

The Hollywood Reporter commissioned research which found almost a third of American Millennials and Generation Z are happy to sit through six trailers when they go to the theatre, but only 19 percent of Generation X and 15 percent of Baby Boomers.

Overall, the preference is for one to three trailers - 59 percent - with 21 percent preferring four to six.

On the other hand, 1 percent of respondents said they'd be happy to sit through a dozen, but 5 percent would prefer none at all.

The poll's full results can be found on the Hollywood Reporter website.
