ET the Extra-Terrestrial star Henry Thomas arrested for drunk driving after passing out behind the wheel

The actor who played Elliot in the 80s classic ET the Extra-Terrestrial has been arrested for drunk driving.

Henry Thomas, 48, was apprehended by police in Oregon on Monday.  The former child actor was found by the Tualatin Police Department at 8:30pm.

Thomas was reportedly asleep at the wheel at a residential intersection. Police were forced to wake up the snoozing star, reports The LA Times

He has been charged with a misdemeanour and remanded in police custody until Tuesday morning. 

Thomas is best known for his role as 10-year-old Elliot in ET the Extra-Terrestrial. 

He recently appeared in Netflix original horror TV series The Haunting of Hill House playing Hugh Crain.

He is set to star in the second series of the show The Haunting of Bly Manor which will premiere in 2020.

His court date is scheduled for November 1.
