Prince Charles and Camilla to visit Waitangi in November

Prince Charles and Camilla will visit in Waitangi during their trip to New Zealand in November.

The royal pair's Aotearoa visit was announced in June, but new details have now been revealed.

According to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will arrive in the country on November 17 and stay until November 23 on what will be their third visit to New Zealand. It has been four years since they last came here.

During that time they will travel to the Bay of Islands, including the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

"This will be the first time in 25 years that a member of the royal family will visit Waitangi," Ardern said.

Charles and Camilla will also head to Christchurch and Kaikōura.

"They will also see the regeneration of Christchurch since the 2011 earthquake and how the community has rallied to support those affected by the March 15 terrorist attacks," Ardern said.

"The effects on the community of the 2016 earthquake will also be seen first hand at Kaikōura.

"I look forward to welcoming Their Royal Highnesses back to New Zealand and hope they see as much of our beautiful country and people as possible."

When the trip was announced, the Prime Minister praised the Prince of Wales for his work on the environment, conservation and sustainability.

Charles' son Harry brought his wife Meghan to New Zealand last year.
