R Kelly complains only one girlfriend at a time can visit him in prison

R Kelly is taking action against a rule that states only one of his girlfriends can visit him at a time while he's in jail.

The controversial R&B singer is currently incarcerated after being charged with a range of sex crimes, including charges on a racketeering scheme to sexually abuse girls.

Kelly has been denied bail, but his lawyers are appealing the decision, citing the restrictions on his visiting list as one of many reasons his current situation is unacceptable.

"Presently, he is only allowed one unrelated person to visit," Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg said.

"In other words, although he lives and has lived with two lady friends, only one of them is allowed to be on his visiting list, and after 90 days he is required to switch.

"No other friends or professional colleagues are allowed to visit. That is not right."

According to the Chicago Tribune, an 11-page motion filed on Kelly's behalf fighting the denial of bail also cited anxiety issues and a lack of adequate medical care.

Kelly's lawyer claimed the 'Ignition' singer had surrendered his passport, has "almost no financial resources" and has always shown up for his court dates.

The 52-year-old has reportedly been moved out of solitary confinement, where he was placed following his July arrest.
