Jay Jay Feeney almost reveals new 'secret international' boyfriend with cropped picture

More FM host Jay Jay Feeney nearly revealed her new "secret international boyfriend" in a social media post of the pair which obscures his face.

The radio broadcaster has been teasing fans with information about her new beau for a few weeks, announcing the romance on More FM's drive show late last month.

At the time, Feeney explained that her new "adorable, smart, beautiful" man was not from New Zealand, but wouldn't elaborate on where he came from.

"It's not one of those countries you can easily go to," she said. "It does not have a good relationship with New Zealand so getting a visa is difficult."

Since then, Feeney has been taking to her Facebook page to ask for recommendations on where to take her partner when he arrives in Aotearoa.

In her latest post, Feeney said she's finalised the itinerary, which covers both the North and South Islands, including her hometown of New Plymouth.

"I promise you will get to see all of him when he gets to NZ next month," she captioned an image of the pair standing side-by-side, cropped to cut out the mystery man's head.

"The reason he is secret right now is because he's really shy, but he said I can put a headless pic of him up.

"So we are going to Auckland, Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, Taupo, Wellington, Canterbury, Te Anau, Queenstown, Dunedin and New Plymouth (and a few wee places nearby and in between). It's quite a lot to fit in! But he is so, so, so excited and so am I!"

Feeney added she "literally can't stop thinking about" the impending trip, promising to document it for her fans so they can follow the adventure.

The Facebook post has prompted a raft of congratulations and encouragement from commenters, with one saying: "The bloke's face is irrelevant! You look positively glowing and that is what matters - you are happy."

Meanwhile, Feeney has been forced to defend the legitimacy of her new relationship after some fans queried whether the romance was a "radio promo" or a "hoax".

"No hoax. And he's not famous at all. Promise. He's just a regular guy from far away that likes me, and I like him," Feeney replied to a comment.
