Legendary rockers Kiss have cancelled their one and only New Zealand show on the End Of The Road tour due to illness.

A statement from promoters said that singer and guitarist Paul Stanley has been advised to rest and refrain from travelling due to a "bad case of influenza".

"Kiss don't want to not give 100 percent and so have made changes to the Australian and New Zealand dates," the statement continued.

The band were due to travel from the US to Australia this week, but will instead delay their Perth show until December 3 - the date originally set for the NZ show at Auckland's Spark Arena.

The 'Rock and Roll All Nite' hitmakers will depart for Japan immediately after the Australian leg of the tour, forcing the cancellation of the Auckland date.

Kiss has sent their "sincere apologies" to fans, promising to reschedule the New Zealand show for a later stage of their current tour.

All tickets to the Spark Arena show can be refunded through Ticketmaster.
