Laneway Festival Auckland 2020 has announced one of it's headline acts, Rüfüs Du Sol, will no longer be playing at the event.

The Australian dance duo were scheduled to perform alongside several international acts including Charli XCX and The 1975 on Auckland Anniversary Day in Albert Park.

However, a last-minute line up change to the festival has confirmed they'll no longer be performing - and they're not the only ones. Irish post-punk rock band Fontaines DC have also pulled out of the gig.

A statement from Rufus Du Sol said they'll be unable to appear due to "reasons beyond their control".

"The band apologise to any fans this may inconvenience and are gutted to pull out, they hope to be back in New Zealand in 2020."

Meanwhile, three new acts have been brought on to flesh out the line-up, including local talent Marlon Williams, Perth-based psych-rock band Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and  American singer Holly Herndon.
