Suzy Cato was determined to make her daughter's airport welcome a little different when she greeted her dressed as a giant inflatable dinosaur on Monday night.
Flanked by her 12-year-old son and two other mothers - all also wearing dino suits - Suzy surprised her daughter Riley, 14, who was returning from a school trip to Nepal.
Suzy captured her daughter's reaction to the gaggle of dinosaurs at Auckland airport, sharing several clips to her social media pages.
The children's television legend told Newshub she'd been inspired to hunt down the dino suit by something Riley said before departing on her three-week World Challenge trip.
"As she hugged me goodbye she said: 'Mum, you are going to be so excited to have me home I can just imagine you turning up in some crazy costume!'," Suzy said.
"Well, it would have been rude of me not to, don't you think?"
After putting the call out to her Facebook friends, Suzy was inundated with store suggestions and several offers of costumes.
Suzy's son donned the smallest suit, and can be seen bouncing over to his slightly startled sister to give her a hug upon arrival.
Suzy said the stunt had definitely brought a few smiles to the faces of weary travellers at the airport.
