Another conspiracy has emerged over whether the coronavirus was predicted - this time by a Korean Netflix series.
Scenes from an episode from My Secret Terrius, from 2018, has been widely shared and appears to forecast the outbreak.
In one scene, a doctor refers to the coronavirus - which was officially named as COVID-19 last month.
"The coronavirus attacks the respiratory system," the doctor says.
"What's more serious is that the coronavirus has an incubation period of two to 14 days."
The scene has been posted all over social media, some Twitter users describing it as "bizarre" and "shocking".
But the "prediction" isn't entirely accurate. In the series, the virus is described to have been "manipulated to attack the lungs within just five minutes of being exposed".
However, scientists analysing the virus have debunked the theory that COVID-19 could be a bioengineered weapon. Research has suggested it leaped to humans via bats and pangolins.
"By comparing the available genome sequence data for known coronavirus strains, we can firmly determine that SARS-CoV-2 originated through natural processes," said Kristian Andersen, an associate professor of immunology and microbiology at Scripps Research.
Last month, a passage from the 1981 novel Eyes of Darkness called "Wuhan-400" also appeared to predict the outbreak.
"Wuhan-400 is a perfect weapon. It afflicts only human beings, No other living creature can carry it and like syphilis Wuhan-400 can't survive outside a living human body for longer than a minute," the passage said.
However, the virus described in the novel was also found to differ dramatically from COVID-19.
