Reality TV star Charlotte Crosby has refused to back down after receiving online criticism for an Instagram post in which she and her friends are wearing personalised face masks.

Amid global fears about COVID-19, the Geordie Shore star uploaded a photo of her and her friends in Bali for a hen's celebration, all wearing face masks emblazoned with the words 'Bali Bitches'.

Crosby didn't make any references to coronavirus in the caption, however the post quickly prompted backlash online from fans who accused her of "mocking" the situation.

"Why have you deleted all the comments calling you out about how poor taste those masks are?" one commenter asked.

"This photo is just a no, there are people dying and you're mocking a serious cause," wrote another.

"Can't stand you anymore," said a third.

Despite the response, Crosby has kept the post active for the past two days. It has been liked over 70,000 times.
