Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'awkward' moment with Prince William and Kate Middleton at final royal appearance

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have carried out their final public royal duty at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey, where their greeting with Prince William and Kate Middleton has been dubbed "awkward".

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seated a row behind William and Kate, as per their rankings within the monarchy. Footage of the seemingly tense moment the two couples met is circulating online as commentators lament the new family dynamic.

"Forget the Fab Four, it's now the Frosty Four," tweeted Dan Wooton, the Kiwi-born journalist who first broke the story of Harry and Meghan's bombshell decision to step back from royal life.

"Very sad to see TBH."

In the clip, Harry and Meghan smile and wave at Kate and William as they take their seats, but appear to receive very little recognition in return.

It was the first time the two brothers and their wives have been seen in public together since Megxit was announced two months ago.

Crowds of royal supporters lined the streets in London to bid Harry and Meghan farewell, some of whom were greeted by the couple as they left the abbey.

Following the service, the pair is expected to return to their new base in Canada, where their son Archie has remained without them.
