Katy Perry's beloved pet cat Kitty Purry has died 15 years after the pop star adopted her.
The feline was well known to fans, often referred to as 'Katy Cats', as Perry often shared images of her on social media and even named a lipstick after her.
The 'I Kissed a Girl' hitmaker took to Instagram to pay tribute to her furry companion.
"Kitty Purry crawled through my then-boyfriend's window 15 years ago, fully pregnant and seeking shelter," Perry said on a post with old photos of her and the cat.
"Two litters and many moons later, this street cat became a lovable mascot to many. Sadly, Kitty completed her 9th life last night.
"I hope she rests in salmon fillets and tuna tartare way up in catnip heaven. Kitty, thanks for the cuddles and companionship along the way."
The post has garnered thousands of condolences from fans and fellow celebrities.
Kris Jenner of Keeping Up with the Kardashians fame posted three heart emojis and a praying emoji.
Instagram user darthvanner commented: "Kitty Purry is the mother I've never had... she is the sister everybody would want, she is the friend that everybody deserves.
"I don't know a better cat."
