Auckland drive-in cinema to play Boy, Pulp Fiction, The Notebook with Ben & Jerry's ice cream and Burger Burger meals

A new drive-in cinema starting in Auckland next week offers a retro movie watching experience for a COVID-19 world.

The Drive In Cinema will be playing films that run the gamut from Joker to Frozen II, including classic flicks like Dirty Dancing and Pulp Fiction

Customers will pull up to Auckland's ASB Showgrounds where, after a contactless entrance, they'll tune in to a dedicated FM frequency on their car radio to listen to the film as it plays on a big screen.

Burger Burger meals and Ben & Jerry's ice cream will be available to order on the night via a mobile phone, to be delivered directly to audience members' vehicles.

The season runs from May 27 - June 6 and features the following titles:

  • Boy
  • Rocketman
  • JoJo Rabbit
  • The Gentlemen
