Harry Styles hailed as 'consent king' by models in sexy 'Watermelon Sugar' video

Two of the models who appear in Harry Styles' new music video have praised the pop star's approach to interacting with them during the intimate shoot.

Ephrata and fellow model Aalany McMahan spoke about their experience on the set of the 'Watermelon Sugar' video during an Instagram Live, where they dubbed Styles a "consent king".

"The people were telling him to touch my hair and play with it and he was like, 'Wait, wait, wait, pause - can I even touch your hair? Is that even okay?'" Ephrata said.

"And I was like, 'Yeah, that's so nice. That was really sweet.'"

McMahan agreed, saying the former One Direction star was "very huge on the consent".

"Consent king!" Ephrata replied.

The 'Watermelon Sugar' video has been hotly anticipated by his fans, who were sent into a frenzy by the suggestive visuals that incorporate a variety of juicy fruits to complement the song's lyrics.

"This man knows how to drive us crazy," one fan wrote on Twitter.

"I've decided to become a watermelon!" said another.

Ephrata said the shoot, which features Styles singing in the centre of a sea of beautiful women and fruit, was "so fun because everybody was so comfortable".

"It was just natural," McMahan agreed.

The vintage-look video begins with an opening frame that reads: "This video is dedicated to touching," along with the date of May 18, 2020, in an apparent acknowledgement of the COVID-19 pandemic.
