Northern Bass will ring in the new year and celebrate its 10th anniversary with performances from local bands like Shapeshifter and L.A.B., as well as Pendulum Trinity from Australia - pending border entry due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The three-day festival's "stacked Kiwi line-up" also features Aroha and Tali, Avantdale Bowling Club, Concord Dawn, Jess B, Ladi 6, MeloDownz and Church & AP.
"We can't wait to welcome back many of the acts that have been such a huge part of the festival over the past nine years, as well as some very talented new artists," festival director Gareth Pophman said.
While he's excited about the heavily local line-up, Popham is "hopeful" Aussie outfits Pendulum Trinity and DJ ShockOne will be allowed to travel to Aotearoa by the end of the year.
"Before the world locked down we had secured a number of international acts and if the borders open in time we will be adding them to our already strong line-up," Popham added.
"Even with uncertain borders, we think our audience will be excited about the quality of our line-up announcement, a testament to an incredible New Zealand music community.”
Northern Bass takes place over three nights beginning on December 29 in Mangawhai. Tickets are already on sale to the general public, with more acts yet to be announced.
