Over 40 artists are set to perform at multiple venues on Karangahape Road on September 11 for The Others Way 2020.

Upper Hutt Posse, The Bats, Nadia Reid, Beastwars, JessB, The Phoenix Foundation and the Subliminals are among the acts announced on Tuesday.

The music festival's line-up "digs deep into the rich vein of pure gold that is New Zealand's alternative music scene", according to promoters.

A whopping 14 different K Rd venues will be hosting the festival including The Studio, Galatos, The Wine Cellar, Whammy Bar, Neck of the Woods and the Thirsty Dog Tavern. Buying a ticket to the festival grants entry to all venues, so long as their capacity allows it.

The venues are said to be looking forward to The Others Way after being severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It's been a tough year for Karangahape Road and the wider music community," says Matthew Davis of Flying Out, which is presenting the festival.

"We had to think very seriously about whether to go ahead with the festival this year but concluded that the very best way to support bands, our local venues and the hospitality community is to put on a show.

"The Others Way has become a fixture on the calendar for music lovers, as well as one of the busiest nights of the year for the venues and nearby bars and restaurants. Karangahape Road is going to be packed on the night of the festival which will be great for everyone."
