Justin and Hailey Bieber have shown a flagrant disregard for California's restrictions on gatherings amid the COVID-19 pandemic by inviting a slew of celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Jaden Smith to their house for a houseparty with no masks or social-distancing.

According to the Daily Mail, which obtained photographs of the Biebers greeting their unmasked A-list with hugs, the late-night shindig was held despite the mandated 'no parties' order given by Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti forbidding public or private gatherings of any number of people outside of the same household.

Apparently unphased by the rules, Kendall Jenner gave paparazzi a defiant double thumbs up as she was snapped entering the Biebers' property with her sister Kylie. Other guests included Jaden Smith and model Winnie Harlow, who was at least wearing a mask when she arrived at the property.

Photos taken on the night show an outdoor affair in which guests sat close together and did not appear to be taking any precautionary measures known to lower the risk of transmitting coronavirus as they shared food and enjoyed beverages.

The Biebers also apparently ignored Mayor Garcetti's promise to authorise the Department of Water and Power to shut off the utilities of homes or businesses that violated the rules, which he did in order to make an example of TikTok star Bryce Hall who threw an extravagant 21st birthday party at his rented mansion.

Los Angeles has reported over 673,000 cases of COVID-19 and more than 12,174 deaths.
