Prince William and Kate Middleton accused of 'snubbing' Meghan Markle with birthday tweet to Prince Harry

Prince William, Kate Middleton and several other royals are being accused of deliberately snubbing Meghan Markle with their birthday tweets to Prince Harry.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose a photo featuring the two of them and Harry doing a running race, with Meghan notably missing.

"Wishing a very happy birthday to Prince Harry today!" they wrote, along with a birthday cake and balloon emoji.

Royal fans immediately noticed Meghan's absence in the social media post, commenting that the move was a "slap in the face" to the Duchess of Sussex.

"Imagine thinking people wouldn't see the disrespect in the choice of picture. I'm so glad PH [Prince Harry] got his wife and child out there," one tweet read.

"Wow so his wife Meghan can't be in this? This is high key rude AF," wrote another.

"So you deliberately left Meghan out? Rubbish people," said a third.

Meanwhile, other commentators felt that the photo showed Harry "the happiest they've seen him in a long time" - before he met Meghan.

The former Suits star also didn't feature in birthday tweets from the official Royal Family twitter account or the account of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Harry and Meghan sent shockwaves through the royal family when they stepped down as senior working members earlier this year, with what appeared to be little warning or consultation with the monarchy.

Since then, they settled in the US and have signed several Hollywood deals, including a partnership with Netflix worth a reported US$150 million.
