Actress Jennifer Aniston is encouraging her 37 million Instagram followers to vote early in the US election, but says it's "not funny to vote for Kanye".

The Friends star took to Instagram to share a lengthy message and picture when she cast her vote on Saturday.

Aniston says she voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because right now "this country is more divided than ever".

"Right now, a few men in power are deciding what women can and can't do with their own bodies.

"Our current President has decided that racism is a non-issue.

"He has repeatedly and publicly ignored science... too many people have died."

In the post, Aniston urges followers to "really consider" the LGBTQ+ community, the elderly, racism, and environmental issues when voting.

At the end of the post, Anniston added: "PS - It's not funny to vote for Kanye. I don't know how else to say it. Please be responsible."

Kanye West announced his intention to run for president in a tweet on July 5, despite currently being on the ballot in just 11 of 50 US states.

West made headlines when he admitted he "nearly killed his daughter" in an anti-abortion rant at his first presidential rally in July.

While West will not garner enough votes to become president, he can still "determine the outcome of this election", HIT Strategies Democratic pollster Terrance Woodbury told CNN.

Anniston's only highlight reel on Instagram is dedicated to posting about the election - the star has actively posted political content for the last 12 weeks.
