Six60 have been all over the country promoting their cinema debut, Till The Lights Go Out, but the Auckland premiere of the documentary at The Civic was "the biggest one yet", according to lead singer Matiu Walters.
Having taken the film back to their scarfie roots in Dunedin, where the band got its name from the infamous flat at 660 Castle Street, all of the group's members fronted up to premieres in their hometowns of Invercargill, Napier, Gisborne and Whangārei.
Ahead of its general release on Thursday, the band donned matching tuxedos to walk the red carpet in front of hordes of fans on Queen Street, soaking in the last of the glitz and glamour that comes with a big screen release.
"This is the biggest audience who will see the film," bassist Chris Mac told Newshub.
"So this is gonna be quite exciting."
Meanwhile, Matiu reckoned the evening was "a long time coming" and did his best to stay in the moment in between camera flashes.
"It feels amazing, honestly."
But after selling out Western Springs Stadium twice, releasing a film and looking down the barrel of a nationwide summer tour, what's next? We thought it best to test out the boys acting skills, just in case they want to chuck an Oscar next to all those music award trophies one day.
