A contestant on US reality TV show Wipeout has died after completing an obstacle course.
The man was taken to hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday (local time) and was declared dead at around 7pm, Associated Press reports.
The cause of death has not yet been released although according to TMZ, which first reported the incident, paramedics received a "cardiac arrest call" on Wednesday afternoon.
Sources close to the production told TMZ the man had just finished an obstacle course when he had chest pains and required medical attention. A medic team onsite helped him before paramedics arrived.
Wipeout is a reality TV show where contestants complete extreme obstacle courses often enduring large, dramatic falls along the way.
The show ran from 2008 to 2014 and a reboot is currently being filmed. Filming stopped on Thursday and Friday and is set to stay paused for the next week.
According to Associated Press, all contestants on the show have to pass a medical examination before they compete.
TBS, the US channel behind the reboot, said in a statement they were "devastated" to hear of the man's death.
"Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family."
The man's name is not being released until his family have been notified of the death.
