Sienna Miller has spoken out about the infamous affair her ex-fiance Jude Law had with his children's nanny in 2005, claiming she completely blanked out the six weeks following the scandal.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, the Factory Girl star called the moment news of Law's infidelity broke "one of the most challenging she hopes she'll ever have to experience".

"Because with that level of public heartbreak, to have to get out of a bed let alone stand in front of 800 people every night, it's just the last thing you want to do," Miller explained, referencing her role in William Shakespeare's As You Like It, which she was performing in on London's West End at the time.

"It was really hard. And the other thing was, it was at the height of all that paparazzi madness, and in London where there was an epidemic of bad behavior. They knew where I would be every night," she said.

Miller said she had memory loss for six weeks around that time and couldn't remember having dinner with friends who had come to see her.

"I was in so much shock over it all. And I'd really just begun. I was only 23. But if you get through that, you feel like you can get through anything," she said.

Law made a public apology to his fiance after reports emerged of his affair, saying he was "ashamed and upset" that he had hurt Miller and those close to the couple.

"I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain that I have caused" he said in a statement.
