Jackass stars Steve-O and Johnny Knoxville have been hospitalised just two days into filming of the comedy stunt franchise's fourth movie.

Fellow castmate Bam Margera shared a video update from a hospital waiting room in which he explained the reunion of the Jackass members had already been derailed.

"Second day of filming Jackass and already Steve-O and Knoxville are hospitalised by jumping on a full-speed treadmill with band equipment," Margera said in the video

"Like, f**ing tubas."

Margera also showed off his own injuries - several wounds on his hand - adding: "I've got the scars, too. Yeah man."

Most of the Jackass crew are into their 40s now, having filmed their last movie, Jackass 3D, in 2010.

Speaking to NME in 2016, Steve-O said he didn't have high hopes for a Jackass reunion.

"I think the odds of a fourth Jackass film are virtually non-existent," he said at the time.

"The chances of us getting together for an unrelated project are much higher."

While it seems Steve-O's predictions about another movie weren't quite accurate, it remains to be seen when he and Knoxville will be fit to return to filming.
