Bernie Sanders' inauguration mittens catch the hearts of many

As Joe Biden's inauguration continues to make for social media fodder, one image, in particular, is going viral -  Bernie Sanders who may be remembered for his failed Presidential campaigns - is trending for his fashion.

Sanders set out on inauguration day in his beige on beige ensemble topped off with mittens, the fashion trend no-one saw coming.

Or as someone suggested: "Bernie dressed like the inauguration is on his to-do list today but aint his whole day"

When asked by a US news show about his outfit Sanders made it clear he was just one man and his mittens - dressed for icy conditions.

"In Vermont, we dress ..we know something about the cold and we're not so concerned about good fashion. We want to keep warm and that's what I did today."

Vermont school teacher Jen Ellis gave Sanders the mittens in 2016.

"People wear things from famous fashion designers to the inauguration and there was Bernie wearing mittens that I made in my craft room with a sewing machine that my mother gave to me when I was 12," says Ellis.

She's had thousands of order requests but doesn't have any left.

Sanders' look was so well-loved, an app has been created allowing him to travel the world by putting him anywhere on google street view.

The irony is that Bernie Sanders hasn't been in the headlines since he pulled out of the race for the presidency.

Now that Biden is in the White House, Sanders is everywhere too.
