Backstreet Boys postpone New Zealand tour again to 2022

The Backstreet Boys have announced they've been forced to push their New Zealand and Australian shows back to 2022 as a result of ongoing restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The '90s boyband was set to play two shows in Auckland in 2020 as part of their DNA World Tour but were forced to cancel those dates, scaling back to one show which they hoped to perform in April this year.

The Backstreet Boys' now intend to play Spark Arena on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

"We were hoping to have better news, however, it doesn't seem it is going to be possible for us to go back out on the road just yet," a statement from the group read.

"We can't wait to visit you all down under. We miss you, we look forward to getting back out on the road, getting back out on that stage and interacting with the fans each night."

The 'Everybody' hitmakers advised that fans who had already bought tickets should hang on to them, as they would still be valid for new dates.

"We can’t wait to bring back the Backstreet Boys experience to you soon. We miss you all, we love you all and we will see you very soon. We hope everyone is well, be well," the statement continued.

Refunds are available for ticket holders who can't attend the new dates, however requests will need to be made through the point of purchase before 5pm on March 31, 2021.
