Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's split from royals to be made into movie called Escaping the Palace

Lifetime has announced they will be turning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's split from the Royal Family into a new made-for-television movie.

The third in a series of fictional films about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Escaping the Palace promises to reveal "what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry and Meghan to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie".

Of course, it's unlikely the filmmakers will have any real insight into what went on behind-the-scenes of Megxit, instead drawing on tabloid stories and of course, the couple's recent tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

"The movie will detail Meghan's growing isolation and sadness, their disappointment that 'The Firm' was not defending them against the press's attacks and Harry's fear that history would repeat itself and he would not be able to protect his wife and son from the same forces that caused his mother's untimely death," Lifetime said in a statement.

"Harry and Meghan: Escaping the Palace will also reveal the private family feuds between Will and Harry, Kate and Meghan, and Harry with Will and Charles, that lead to the ultimate break from the royal ties."

Two different sets of actors portrayed Harry and Meghan in the previous two Lifetime films, 2018's Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance and 2019's Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal

The roles of the Duke and Duchess have not yet been cast for the third instalment, but production is expected to kick-off in the coming months.
