US comedian Chris D'Elia is being sued for allegedly soliciting more than 100 sexually explicit pictures and videos from a  girl who was 17 for half of them.

In 2014, the time of the alleged offending, D'Elia was 34. A court document that refers to the girl as Jane Doe, claims she messaged the comedian on Instagram and began a conversation.

D'Elia encouraged her to attend one of his shows and then had sex with her.

The suit alleges D'Elia was aware the girl was in high school and not of legal age - and thought that was "hot".

It's also alleged he pressured the teenager to send explicit nude photographs and videos - praising her when she did and threatening to cut contact if she didn't.

The suit accuses D'Elia of violating federal child pornography and child sexual exploitation statues.

D'Elia was first accused of seeking explicit photos from teenagers last June, after he appeared in the second season of "You" on Netflix. On the show, he portrayed a comedian who sexually abuses teenage girls.

Multiple women alleged he had acted inappropriately towards them - some as young as 16.

He has consistently denied knowingly pursuing underage women. In February, he posted a 10 minute YouTube video where he said he has "a problem" and sex "controlled" his life - but all of it has been consensual and legal.

D'Elia said he was seeking treatment for his problem with sex. "It was the focus, it was my focus all the time. And I had a problem and I do have a problem. It's not like, months down the line everything's better. I need to do work on that."
