Machine Gun Kelly has shocked fans after posting a photo of his 'slashed' neck.

The American singer chose a daring spot for his new tattoo - a thin red line has been inked down his neck.

Posting the photo on Instagram on Tuesday, he captioned it: "Bye bye neck."

Fans of the singer expressed their concerns.

"The way my f**king heart stopped," one person commented.

"Thought that was a legit slice in your neck," another wrote.

Earlier this year, Machine Gun Kelly opened up about his mental health struggles on social media.

"I just wanna say to my fans I've been in, kind of like a f**ked up place personally for a couple of months in my head. So I haven't been that active on socials," he said in January.

This is not the first time he has opened up about his struggles. The singer previously confessed he "didn't know what love was" until he met Megan Fox.

"I didn't know what [love] was until me and her made eye contact. That's when I was like, 'whoa'," he said.

"I did fall in love for the first time. That was my first experience with being open to love and stuff like that."

It is unclear whether the singer and actress are still dating.
