A cosy snap of Rita Ora and Taika Waititi has sparked rumours of romance between the singer and Kiwi film director.

The image, shared to Rita's Instagram page, shows the 45-year-old Thor: Ragnarok director with his arms draped around the 30-year-old singer, his face partially covered by a Gucci cap.

Fans are speculating over what the snap could mean, some guessing the pair are romantically involved while others are suggesting Rita is making an appearance in Thor, which is currently being filmed in Australia.

To add further fuel to rumours, Rita captioned the snap, which was posted alongside eight other photos: "Good times, memories, random things on my phone and the ones I love…❤️".

The pair are wearing matching multi-coloured Gucci tracksuits and though Watiti's face is partially covered, he can still be identified as Rita tagged his account.

The rumoured couple was reportedly recently seen disembarking a private jet with Chris Hemsworth, his wife Elsa, and Matt Damon in Sydney following a trip to the Gold Coast.

According to the Daily Mail, a fan also spotted the famous pair kissing inside a restaurant.

Rita, who split from French director Romain Gavras earlier this year, is in Sydney ahead of her appearance as a celebrity coach on The Voice Australia.

Fans have taken to social media to question the supposed couple sightings.

"When Taika Waititi sneaks Rita ora into the new Thor movie thus making Rita the first pop girlie in the MCU yup! (please don’t correct me if I'm wrong, I have seen maybe five marvel movies I don’t care) (sic)," one Twitter user wrote.

"People really thinking Taika Waititi is dating Rita Ora because they hugged in a picture?" said another.

Taika Waititi reportedly split from his wife Chelsea Winstanley, 44, in 2018 after seven years of marriage. They have two daughters together, Te Hinekāhu, eight, and Matewa Kiritapu, five.
