Matt Damon reveals how he feels about Ben Affleck and J-Lo getting back together

Matt Damon has weighed in on the rumours that long-time friend Ben Affleck might be back together with ex-fiancee Jennifer Lopez - and it appears he's very much onboard the Bennifer train.

Appearing on Today to discuss his new movie Stillwater, Damon was asked about the potential of a rekindled romance after Lopez and Affleck were snapped spending time together on multiple occasions, including a week-long vacation.

"There's not enough liquor in the world for you to get me to say something about that," Damon responded initially, claiming he only heard about the rumours from the Today hosts while he was waiting to appear on the show.

"It's the first time I heard about it," he said. "It's a fascinating story. I hope it's true. I love them both. I hope it's true, that would be awesome."

Affleck was spotted at Lopez's home shortly after she went public with her split from fiance Alex Rodriguez. The couple were together for four years, but said in a statement they had decided they were "better off as friends".

Rodriguez is reportedly "shocked and saddened" by Lopez and Affleck's reunion, which made more headlines when the Daily Mail captured photos of the two on a "romantic getaway" at a luxury ski resort in Montana.

"He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect. He has been reaching out to J-Lo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him," a source close to the pop star reportedly told E! News

Rodriguez allegedly reached out to the 'Love Don't Cost A Thing' hitmaker to tell her he was "upset", but the insider insists Lopez is "done" with him.

Affleck and Lopez, dubbed 'Bennifer' by the press, were engaged in November 2002, just a few months after they met on the set of the film Gigli. The couple called off their September 2003 wedding just days before the marriage was due to take place, and officially split early the following year.

According to E! News, the pair have stayed in touch intermittently in the years since their split, and still have "unreal chemistry".
